This two-person exhibition considers the poetics of the declaration: 'Til death do us part. As both the afterlife itself and the face of the beloved lie beyond the veil, these paintings and photographs consider the overlapping relationships between the sensual, the sacramental, the accidental, and the absent as manifest in bygone faces, places, and objects.
Christi Harris is a painter who focuses on issues of domesticity and consumer culture in her work. She is an Associate Professor of Art at Christopher Newport University, where she teaches drawing and painting.
Bob Krueger’s photography centers around images that evoke memory, dreams, and the poetry of the moment. A Missouri native, he began taking photographs at the age of 10 and later earned a BFA in photography.
