Dr. Galit Gertsenzon - "Hearing the Holocaust, Honoring Silenced Composers."

The lecture will include a brief background on the Holocaust and how music became an integral part of the lives and deaths of imprisoned people and their perpetrators. Specifically, Dr. Gertsenzon will discuss how music became a tool of propaganda by the Nazis, and how musicians resisted the Nazis through the creation and performance of music.
