About this Event
Research on disasters demonstrates the differing and disproportionate effects disasters can have on people depending on their identity, background, resources, knowledge, and more. In this talk, Dr. Trivedi will unpack the importance of understanding the perspectives people have, the decisions they make, and what influences them - including broader forces like history and culture. This is critical to knowing why disasters unfold the way they do, what impacts there will be on recovery, and what steps we can take to transform future processes and events. Dr. Jennifer Trivedi is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Delaware.
