Reflections: Surface and Substance features artists who engage the artistic potential of reflection, both in the physical sense of the specular movement of light, and in the metaphorical sense of reflection as a type of thought. The exhibition will examine the ways in which materials that reflect light, ranging from glitter and glass to mirrors, crystals, and highly polished surfaces, are used in contemporary art. The works on view explore how reflected light may render visible or distort objects, or aid or impede both vision and comprehension. Presenting work across media, including painting, sculpture, photography, and video, the exhibition will explore a wide range of techniques and methodologies.
