About this Event
1 Avenue of the Arts, Newport News, VA 23606
The tavern displays in the William Grace Community Gallery will come alive with a whisky tasting in cooperation with 8 Shires Distillery, a small craft distillery in the Historic Triangle of Williamsburg dedicated to research, preserve, teach, and present the history of distillation from the Colonial American Period (1578-1797). Along with a talk by Clanci Jo Conover ('15), curator at the Spirits Museum in Williamsburg, visitors will enjoy listening to a musical selection of Colonial Sea Shanties and sampling spirits using historic recipes and ingredients of the 17th and 18th century.
